Voted the best martial arts school in Boston in 2016 and 2017 , Oom Yung Doe teaches traditional martial arts to students of all ages. Taught in the Grandmaster “Iron” Kim style, many Oom Yung Doe students have gone on to live healthier, more balanced lives. One of these students is Steve H.

At age 21, Steve was involved in a serious car accident. While on the road, a vehicle ran a stop sign and rammed into the vehicle he was driving. A van then crashed into his vehicle from the other side and the joint collisions sent his car violently into a telephone pole. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.

Steve suffered severe injuries from the accident, especially to his back. However, his doctors told him that it was only a sprain and that he could wear a back brace and return to work the next day. This incorrect medical advice made things worse for Steve. His back deteriorated, making it hard for him to walk straight. Over time, he suffered more injuries in his back and no matter how many medical treatments he tried, his condition never got better.

Steve joined Oom Yung Doe when he was 28. He trained consistently for seven years, eventually becoming a second-degree instructor. The training helped him recover his physical strength and health. Now 43, Steve has gone back to training and is learning even more than he did before. He is also performing some conditioning exercises tailored for his back, and so far, the results have been “amazing.”

Oom Yung Doe training develops the entire body and has helped thousands of students rebalance their condition, eliminate a variety of chronic injuries or maladies, and improve their quality of life.
