A rarity among martial arts schools in the U.S., Oom Yung Doe offers instruction in eight complete traditional martial arts, including tai chi chung, kung fu, jiu jitsu, aikido, bagwa chung, ship pal gye, kong su (tae kwon do), and kom do. Over the years, Oom Yung Doe has received positive testimonials from many clients, including Nancy Heilman, whose story was featured in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

In the article, Heilman, an attorney at Cohen & Grigsby, described her martial arts training as a powerful tool. She uses it to improve concentration, increase productivity, and maintain a high level of energy throughout the day.

Heilman had originally started taking martial arts classes at the behest of her son, and she went on to train for more than 20 years. She’s focused on traditional martial arts, achieving a fourth-degree black belt. Importantly, practicing martial arts ended up changing her thinking. She uses meditation to develop the mind and maintain internal physical strength. As a result, she’s better able to navigate the sometimes aggressive field of law.
