Oom Yung Doe is a school that teaches eight different traditional martial arts, including tae kwon do. Grandmaster “Iron” Kim established Oom Yung Doe in the early 1970s, and it recently was named among the Best Martial Arts Schools in Boston for three years running.

Tae kwon do goes back roughly to the first century in Korea, when the rudiments of the martial art were developed. Today, tae kwon do is dominant in Korea, where it was once a part of military training, and throughout the rest of the world, where it has become an international sport guided by the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF).

Tae Kwon Do taught in Oom Yung Doe helps students learn how to kick, punch, block, and step in a linear fashion. This type of practice quickly builds external strength, willpower, and discipline. In addition, through consistent practice, you can improve your coordination, timing, and speed.

Students of all ages can practice tae kwon do but as you get older it needs to be properly balanced so as not to shock the joints with other martial arts.
